On Movie Extras

The Movie Extra, often referred to as atmosphere, background or ND (nondescript)  talent, provides the added bit of realism which makes a scene complete. Imagine a hospital reception area scene without patients or medical staff milling about... or a baseball game without fans in the stands (in this case, it would just come across as a practice game)... Those cast in this role hold nonspeaking positions and a different (lower) status than the speaking talent, though they, collectively, are just as important. Think you can be a successful extra capable of moving up to featured and speaking roles? If so, you should be able to define the following terms:

--back to one - means "Go back to where you started and do it again.""
--the works - refers to the makeup, hair and wardrobe departments
--honeywagon - the trailer that houses the restrooms
--A.D. - Assistant Director (the person who helps to move the production along for the director)
--wrangler - a person that keeps a group of people, or things, in designated areas.
